Designed by Rick Griffin, this handbill is known as the “Turkey Trot.” Griffin’s style is unmistakable in the lettering and central image of this piece. This handbill was used to promote a Family Dog show at the Avalon Ballroom that featured Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin, as well as Mount Rushmore, a local heavy blues and psychedelic group.
