This outrageous vintage Beatles headshop poster was designed by the legendary blacklight and concert poster artist Dail W. Beeghley Jr., in early 1970. The artist produced a series of these blacklight posters in the late 60's and early 70's featuring top acts of the day, like the Stones, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin and others. Beeghly's claim to fame was the amount of time, effort and materials he invested to create true works of art that transcended the genre. He created this silkscreen headshop poster with stunning day-glo fluorescent inks that dazzle under black light.

Beeghley produced posters in the Maryland/DC area and many of the most valuable posters in the entire field of collectable rock poster art are from his hand. He managed to convey the intensity of the psychedelic rock experience in a more direct but vibrant way compared to the San Francisco school of poster artists such as posters for Jimi Hendrix at the Washington Hilton, and later the Merriweather Post Pavilion, and for Janis Joplin and Vanilla Fudge at the Alexandria VA Arena. This poster in front of you probably cost $2.50 “Back in The Day.”
