Description

The Grateful Dead finished a very scenic run of 13 shows across 19 days starting Aug 26, and after a five day break, rolled up the hills past Sacramento to play to a largely hometown crowd of several thousand, outdoors at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The tour had included stops at Red Rocks, Park City, the legendary Hult Center in Eugene, Santa Fe and Austin. This show was remembered for its wonderful clear California weather and some inspired play by Jerry. In fact, the Jerry Garcia Band had played at this venue two months earlier on July 24th.

Six days later was another short road trip for Bay Area Deadheads, down south to Watsonville, just below Santa Cruz, for another bright blue sky outdoor dance-athon. Then, after a two week break for the band, it was back to the East Coast.
