This oversized silkscreen poster was made in a very limited quantity of 250 and is signed and numbered by the artist, Alton Kelley. Kelley is one of San Francisco’s Big Five psychedelic poster artists, credited with creating the psychedelic poster in the late 1960s although here he is with a fairly straightforward approach.
The Allman Brothers were in fine form in 1996, playing 61 shows. They had released “Where it All Began” in 1994 and the band had been inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. At the ceremony Greg Allman was extremely drunk and after watching the video became horrified and finally was able to get sober for good that year. Allman notes that at this time they were playing great and to huge audiences where he could finally appreciate what was going on.
