Description

Kings Beach is a tiny community on the north shore of Lake Tahoe where it borders Nevada. A step over the line are smalltime downhome casinos like the CalNeva and Crystal Bay Club and you are in the middle of ski country with Mt Rose, Northstar, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and many more terrific ski areas within an hour. Trip and ski?  It’s very possible, although for three days and nights this would only be for the most rugged. Additionally, one might want to be careful to partake in both of those activities at the same time… The Kings Beach Bowl? It would be too cold and snowy to be playing outdoors as the Dead did in the summer of '85, at Boreal Ridge; indeed these shows were in a bowling alley!

These shows have been released as Dick’s Picks Volume 22 and featured the entire Anthem of the Sun run-through and a 19-minute Viola Lee Blues. Want to really travel back in time? Play the CD and enjoy this cool poster from Bob Fried – a highly regarded artist with a career cut off by his untimely death in 1975. We framed this one to look perfect in your ski house

The original poster was printed in a very small quantity and it became so popular that it was printed a second time. The 2nd printing is hand numbered out of 5000, and clearly labelled as a 2nd printing. This is an original first printing.
