This show in Maine – the Dead played 22 shows in Maine and never a bad one – was in the middle of a Spring 1983 tour that started at Hampton Coliseum April 9 and ended in at the Spectrum in Philadelphia April 26. By 1983 the band was playing larger facilities including Brendan Byrne Arena and New Haven Coliseum during thus run. Fortunately for devoted fans, they mixed in some smaller venues like this one (3,800) and the Patrick Gymnasium at the University of Vermont (4,000) as well. Tickets cost $13.00 for the travelling public and just ten bucks for students.
From the band's Arista Records phase, their two most recent albums had been Dead Set and Reckoning. Little specifics are known about this poster but rest assured it is extremely rare.
